Taroko Gorge :-)

I spent my last day (not counting packing/traveling home) in Taiwan hiking through the gorgeous mountains of Taroko! Of all the places I visited in Taiwan, this was by far my favorite.  I know I already posted a bunch of similar pictures from the first time I went, but I couldn't help myself...I LOVE this place! The weather was supposed to be rainy all week, except for the one day we were there. It was the perfect day to say goodbye to my island home. Thank you, Taiwan!

We started the morning off at the beach.  Our taxi driver was a friend of a friend of Dave's, haha, who was a member of the Church and the nicest tour guide ever! He took pictures for us all day long and then put them on a cd for us to take home. He and Dave chatted in Chinese all day, and Mer and I tried to understand a little of what was going on...I was referred to all weekend as the "pengyou" :-)

Celebrity moment #137: Being a blonde-haired, blue-eyed American in Asia makes for a lot of stares, and some hilarious situations! This group of guys saw us on the beach and asked if they could take their picture with us. "You are so beautiful!"
Good grief...

 I'm back!!!

 BEAUTIFUL DAY!

The taxi man wanted me to pose at all these places...this is supposed to look like I'm drinking the waterfall!

This one is me touching noses with the rock man.

This is me kissing another rock man.

They have mechanical construction men in Taiwan!

Permits are required for this bridge. Bummer dude.

We ended our tour at this beautiful field covered in pink flowers...heaven!
